Ahead of the shutdown of Discovery+ in Canada, a new Discovery+ service provided by Rogers is now available to Canadian viewers. Subscribers can continue using the Discovery+ service provided by Warner Bros. Discovery until their current subscription ends, or until the service fully shuts down on February 17, 2026, as announced late last year.
Current subscribers will not automatically be moved over to the new app. Because the new Discovery+ is being run by a different provider, users will need to resubscribe and set up new accounts to get access. On the customer support page for Discovery+, the company says that accounts and data, including payment information, profiles, and watch history, will not transfer to the new Discovery+. Personal settings like watchlists and favorite shows also won’t be saved.
The new Discovery+ app will still be the home to same TV brands including Discovery, Food Network, HGTV, TLC, Animal Planet, Discovery Turbo and more.
The app is available on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung TV, Android TV, and on the web, mobile devices, and tablets. Devices that the app will not work in include Roku TV, LG Smart TVs, Amazon Fire Tablets, Chromecast, and Xbox.
In Canada, viewers can sign up for $5.99 per month for the basic plan or $8.99 per month for the ad-free plan. Right now, subscribers can get 50% off for 2 months with the promo code INTRO50.
