The NBA Plans to Let You Buy Single Game Passes, $0.99 4th Quarter Access, & More

Most sports fans have been there before, there’s a game you really want to see but you aren’t wanting to pay for a full season worth of games to see it. Now, the NBA wants to let you have more control over what you pay for by letting you pay for just a single game or part of a single game.

According to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, the NBA is looking at selling single game streaming rights for just $7.99. Don’t want to watch the full game and just want to see a possible upset in the works? Well, the NBA says they are testing something called microtransactions that will let you buy just 5 minutes of a game or the 4^th quarter for as little as $0.99.

This all comes as the NBA announces plans to partner with Bleacher Report on their new B/R Live streaming service that will give fans access to live coverage from a long list of sports including NCAA, PGA, and the NBA.

The NBA has been a leader in online streaming access for NBA fans. Now it looks like the NBA is planning on breaking free from season-long commitments to allowing fans to pay for only the games they want. Hopefully, other sports leagues will follow suit.
