The Met Opera is Offering Access to Performances You Can Stream for Free

the metThe Met may be closed but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy opera from the comfort of your own couch. After canceling all of its upcoming performances through the end of March over coronavirus outbreaks, The Metropolitan Opera in New York is Nightly Met Opera Streams,” on its website, a series of  Live in HD presentations you can stream for free.

“We’d like to provide some grand opera solace to opera lovers in these extraordinarily difficult times,” said Met General Manager Peter Gelb. “Every night, we’ll be offering a different complete operatic gem from our collection of HD presentations from the past 14 years.”

The performances are available to stream on the Met’s homepage every night at 7:30 PM EST and remain available until the next day.
