LocalBTV is a live TV streaming service that focuses on streaming local TV. Launching back in 2017, first in the greater San Francisco area, it streamed 35 local channels for free on its app. With the service, you can watch local channels for free for the channels it has contracts with. Right now though in all markets, the service is down as it is struggling with a network issue.
The outage has taken the service offline on both its website and mobile apps. This has left viewers unable to watch their local programming through the service. Sadly the issue is not with your device and you will need to wait for LocalBTV to fix the outage before the service will work again.
The service went down late last night and at 9 am Eastern today it is still down.
LocalBTV has not posted any updates on the outage yet on its social media which are rarely used. Cord Cutters News is reaching out to LocalBTV for comments and will post updates as we learn more.
Now LocalBTV is available on a growing number of devices and markets. Back in October, the service added Samsung smart TVs to its list of supported devices.
This is the second major outage in the last two months for the service but this is by far the largest it has ever had.
You can find all supported devices and markets on LocalBTV’s website HERE when it comes back online.
