Today the Wall Street Journal reported that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is preparing a possible antitrust lawsuit against Amazon.

It is unknown what the FTC plans to target but Amazon is reportedly being looked at for antitrust violations related to Amazon Prime. It seems the FTC is unhappy about how Amazon bundles services and products together.

One of the main issues is how Amazon favors its own products over competitors on its platforms. Along with how it treated outside sellers.

In December, Amazon and the European Union settled three antitrust probes over its use of sellers’ data. It is unknown if this is part of the FTC probe. Amazon agreed to make significant changes to its business model in Europe, but these changes do not affect how it operates inside the United States.

For now, the FTC is only looking into this and could decide not to proceed with its antitrust lawsuit.

This is breaking news more to come soon.
