It’s not see ya real soon, but rather au revoir to the Disney Store at DisneyLand Paris. The doors have officially closed on one of the last remaining classic-style Disney retail outlets. As of January 4, 2026, the longtime retail fixture at Disneyland Paris’s Disney Village has permanently shut down. The closure was part of a broader transformation of the resort’s shopping and dining district and while it marks the end of a nostalgic era for many fans, a new chapter is already underway.

As first reported by Inside the Magic, the Disney Store was quietly removed from operation following its final day on January 3. Although it was initially listed as “under refurbishment,” the Disneyland Paris Resort later confirmed that the space will not reopen in its original form. Instead, the area will be reimagined as a brand-new retail experience called Disney Wonders, set to debut in summer 2026.

Goodbye Nostalgia, Hello Disney Wonders

The former Disney Store location was considered something of a time capsule. Beckoning the days of food courts and mall trips, the location was filled with oversized character statues and bold, colorful theming that evoked the look many remember from the 1990s and early 2000s. Inside the Magic noted that the shop was one of the few still maintaining this vintage design, making its closure particularly bittersweet for longtime fans.

In its place, Disney Wonders is expected to offer a more modern, franchise-focused shopping experience. Concept art released by Disneyland Paris shows a sleek and vibrant space filled with branded displays, colorful ceiling decor, and a layout designed to spotlight current Disney properties.

While a specific opening date hasn’t been confirmed, the new store is slated to launch sometime in late summer 2026.

Disney Village Continues to Evolve

The retail changes are part of a much larger overhaul of the Disneyland Paris Resort. The Disney Village district has already welcomed new and renovated locations like the LEGO Store, Disney Glamour, and Disney Style. Even its long-running McDonald’s is being rebuilt with a modern design, with a new location expected to open in early 2026.

Meanwhile, the neighboring Walt Disney Studios Park is preparing for a major rebranding. On March 29, 2026, it will officially reopen as Disney Adventure World, featuring the debut of The World of Frozen and plans for future expansions themed around franchises like The Lion King.

As the Disney Village continues to update its look and feel, the closure of the vintage Disney Store serves as a symbolic passing of the torch from the themed retail of the past to a more immersive, brand-driven future and leaves many retro Disney Store fans saying, “toodles.”
