Recently Nexstar announced that it will air 50 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) football and basketball games as part of a new contract. This contract will start this fall on September 9th and is a major win for CW Sports, a growing player in the world of sports. In total, there will be 13 college football games, 28 men’s basketball games, and nine women’s basketball games aired on The CW in the 2023-2024 season.

Now the very first of these games will be aired on The CW with a Cincinnati at Pittsburgh matchup at 6:30 PM Eastern on Saturday, September 9, 2023. The game will be available free over the air in many markets with an antenna. If that is not an option depending on where you live DIRECTV STREAM, Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, and YouTube TV offer The CW in select markets. (Make sure to check to see if it is available in your area.)

It is important to note that The CW says this game will not stream on its app. You will need an antenna or a paid service that offers The CW.

“We are committed to making The CW a destination for live, appointment-viewing sporting events,” said Dennis Miller, President, The CW Network. “The ACC is home to some of the most decorated college football and basketball teams in the country and we look forward to welcoming these avid sports fans to the network as we continue to broaden our audience.”

“We are thrilled to be adding The CW to our weekly television lineup for ACC football and basketball games,” said ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips, Ph.D. “The CW’s national distribution will directly benefit our student-athletes, teams, alumni and fans. We appreciate ESPN and Raycom working together and look forward to the partnership with The CW.”

This comes as The CW has been moving more heavily into sports first with its LIV Golf deal and now into other sports like football with the ACC partnership.
