Are you sick of the cost of your favorite streaming service, like YouTube TV and Fubo, and even cable TV providers, like Comcast and Spectrum? One of the main reasons that the prices have been increasing is the cost of locals that include ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC.

This week, DISH announced a price hike on its satellite TV service. DISH blamed the skyrocketing cost of local TV stations over the last five years for yet another hike.

In a statement from DISH listing the reasons why they must raise the price, DISH blamed local TV stations “First, the local broadcasters of ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC stations continually force us to pay more for their channels or threaten to remove them from our customers. The cost for these channels has risen over 200% over the past 5 years.”

This issue is not limited to cable and satellite TV services but also streaming services. YouTube TV, Fubo, and others have all been forced to raise their prices. Many factors go into the cost of these services going up, but the cost of locals plays a major part in that.
