So, you want a new streaming player? Not sure what to get so you can stream your favorite shows and movies? We asked more than 1,000 of our readers which is the best streaming player for cord cutting. Read on to see the winners.

According to our readers, Roku is the best streaming player for cord cutting by a wide margin. More than 51% of our readers chose Roku. Amazon’s Fire TV came in second with 20.1%, Google TV/Android TV came in third at 13.2%, and the Apple TV came in fourth at 11.7%.

This means Roku is more popular with our readers than the Fire TV, Google TV, Android TV, and the Apple TV combined.

The easy-to-use interface and low price of Roku have helped them gain market share especially with our readers.

Recently, Google has been making a strong push into streaming with Google TV and its older Android TV. Through partnerships with TV manufacturers and inexpensive streaming players like Walmart’s new sub $20 4K Google TV device has helped Google become the third most popular streaming player according to our readers.

It will be interesting to see what 2024 brings as the battle for the best streaming player is still far from over.
