There are now more paid on-demand streaming services than ever before. This raises questions about which service to subscribe to. We asked more than 1,000 of our readers what streaming service they would pay for, focusing primarily on on-demand-only services.
So, of the paid on-demand services, 27.2% of our readers voted for Netflix as the best. Paramount+ came in second with 13.7% of the vote. Here is the complete list:
- Netflix: 27.2%
- Paramount+: 13.7%
- Amazon Prime Video: 11.7%
- Max: 9.1%
- Hulu: 8.5%
- Disney+: 6.4%
- Peacock: 5.6%
- Discovery+: 3.2%
- ESPN+: 2.6%
All others came in under 1% of the vote.
What is interesting here is that most of these services have now—or will soon—offer live content. Netflix recently aired its first live sporting event. Paramount+ streams local CBS programming live. Amazon’s Prime Video streams multiple sporting events live. Even Max recently announced sporting events from channels like TNT will stream live free for now but extra soon.
It seems live content is important to subscribers and on-demand services have been looking for ways to add it to offer more value to their subscribers.
What do you think of Netflix, Paramount+, and Prime Video holding the top three spots?
