We are often asked, what is the best live TV streaming service? New cord cutters want to know which service to spend their hard-earned money on. As part of our 2023 Cordie Awards, more than 1,000 of our readers voted on what live TV streaming service they think is the best.
The best live TV streaming service, according to our readers, is YouTube TV with 36.8% of the vote. Sling TV came in second with 12.2%, and Philo was in third with 9.2%.
Here are how the top services ranked according to our readers:
- YouTube TV: 36.8%
- Sling TV: 12.2%
- Philo: 9.2%
- Hulu + Live TV: 7.8%
- Frndly TV: 6.1%
- DIRECTV STREAM: 4.4%
- Fubo: 3.6%
Once again YouTube TV is more popular with our readers than the next four live TV streaming services combined. The addition of NFL Sunday Ticket seems to have helped its successful growth.
According to the Leichtman Research Group, the top four live TV streaming services now have more than 14.6 million subscribers. Sadly, many live TV services like Philo and Frndly TV do not release subscriber numbers.
The same report indicated that cable TV companies have over 34.8 million subscribers as they continue to lose millions of subscribers in 2023. This shows the slow but stead decline in cable TV’s market share as streaming slowly takes over.
