There are TV comfort shows, and then there’s The Golden Girls. It’s the series you stop scrolling for. The one where you know a “Picture it: Sicily…” story is coming, Dorothy is about to fire off a perfectly timed insult, Rose is heading toward another baffling St. Olaf tale, and Blanche is convinced she still has it (because, of course, she does). This summer, MeTV is giving fans a full month to revisit Miami’s most iconic roommates with a new programming event called The Golden Girls of Summer.
Beginning June 8, MeTV will spotlight one Golden Girl each week with themed blocks of fan-favorite episodes airing weeknights at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. ET/PT.
And honestly? Picking favorites here is harder than getting Sophia to throw away expired food.
The month starts with Dorothy taking center stage, which means fans can expect plenty of razor-sharp sarcasm and classic eye rolls. Rose follows with her unforgettable blend of innocence and accidental chaos. Blanche gets a week packed with romance, drama, and enough flirting to make Miami sweat, before Sophia closes things out with stories, schemes, and enough “Picture it…” moments to fill a summer.
For longtime viewers, this lineup feels like a greatest-hits album. There’s Dorothy imagining herself on Jeopardy!, Rose telling someone to “drop dead” with unexpectedly disastrous results, Blanche hosting one of television’s most memorable murder mystery parties, and Sophia battling over nectarines because only Sophia could turn grocery shopping into a life-or-death event.
