Peacock is bringing the chaos back to the suburbs. The service confirmed that Ted will return for Season 2 on March 5, 2026, and NBC.com’s coverage offered a first look at what fans can expect when the talking teddy bear and his teenage best friend dive into another round of ’90s-era mischief. All eight episodes will drop on premiere day, giving fans one extra chapter compared to last season’s run.
The comedy prequel, set long before John Bennett becomes Mark Wahlberg’s grown-up version in the films, remains one of the platform’s biggest hits. Season 1 smashed viewership records for Peacock originals and held the title of the most-watched streaming comedy in the U.S. for over two months. With that momentum in its pocket, Season 2 looks ready to build on what worked: awkward teen life, strange decisions, and a stuffed bear with absolutely no filter.
What’s New for Season 2?
The entire Season 1 cast is returning, including Max Burkholder as young John, Scott Grimes and Alanna Ubach as his parents, and Giorgia Whigham as Blaire. Seth MacFarlane once again voices Ted, who appears to be popping up in even more unpredictable situations. The newly released images from Peacock (see them here) show everything from John and Ted clanking around in medieval armor to Ted interrupting a bubble bath with someone who definitely wasn’t expecting company.
NBC.com’s first-look photos point to a season that leans even harder into the show’s mix of nostalgia and absurdity. It’s the same tone that made the prequel an unexpected streaming success when it debuted in January 2024.
Beyond the Prequel
Peacock isn’t slowing down with the franchise. MacFarlane is also developing a separate animated Ted series that revisits the era of the original movies, with Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, and others lending their voices. It’s shaping up to be a full-blown Ted universe on the platform.
Fans won’t have to wait long to dive in. Ted Season 2 arrives March 5, 2026, only on Peacock, and all episodes will be available to stream immediately.
