For a long time Netflix has been a dominant force in the world of streaming; however, it’s looking like Amazon is starting to catch up.

Recently Cord Cutters News conducted our Spring 2018 survey of over 2,500 of our readers. One of the main questions we asked was what streaming services they used.

As you would expect, Netflix is the number one most used service with 75.8% of our readers subscribing. Right behind it is Amazon with 73.8% of our readers subscribing. YouTube is in third place at 41.8%. (Note: This is standard YouTube not YouTube TV.) Hulu is in fourth place with 40.6% of our readers subscribing.

Compared to our Spring 2017 survey Amazon closed the gap with Netflix. In 2017, 77.4% of our readers subscribed to Netflix, 72.9% subscribed to Amazon, 47.4% used YouTube, and 40.2% subscribed to Hulu.
