Straight Talk Wireless isn’t just for individuals anymore.
Last week, the prepaid wireless service rolled out new family plans offering a discount for each additional line.
The move is a first for the service, which is owned by Verizon through its Tracfone arm. It previously only offered single line price plans until now.
Straight Talk Wireless plans offer unlimited high-speed data, 5GB of hotspot, and unlimited calling for $45 per month or $42.50 if you sign up for 3 months of auto-refill.
A household of four will save the most under the new plans, when the cost of each line drops to $25. Before the family plan, four lines would have cost $180, or $80 more. Adding more accounts won’t drop the per-line price – the 5-Line Silver Unlimited tier costs $125 per month.
A two-line plan offers $15 in monthly savings, which costs $75 per month as opposed to $90 previously. The 3-Line Silver Unlimited plan costs $90 per month, down from $135 a month.
Straight Talk runs on Verizon’s network, similar to how Mint Mobile runs on T-Mobile’s network (T-Mobile owns Mint). New customers can switch carriers and keep their phones. There are no contracts involved, so you can cancel at any time without a penalty.
You can sign up for an account online at Straight Talk, where you can also check out current sales on phones and plans as well as clearance phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G. If you sign up before September 30, you can save an additional $200 with a three-month Extended Unlimited Plan. Straight Talk is also exclusively available at Walmart, both online and in-store.
