SpaceX is now selling its high-speed satellite internet service at third-party retailers, starting with Home Depot. Until this past Monday, Starlink was only available through the official website.

Starlink’s satellite service uses “the world’s largest constellation of highly advanced satellites operating in a low orbit around the Earth,” allowing for online gaming, video calls, and fast streaming previously deemed impossible with satellite internet.

Home Depot is selling Starlink equipment for $599.99. It also offers a payment plan option for a $50.00 monthly payment for 12 months through its store credit card.

Interested parties can now sign up for either a Residential or Roam service plan. Residential plans are best suited for use at a fixed location and have limited availability at this time. The monthly subscription fee is $110, which is higher than most satellite internet providers, but offers a faster speed and unlimited data.

The Roam tier offers immediate service anywhere Starlink offers coverage, which is ever-expanding into new areas throughout 2023. Download the Starlink App to see what is available in your area. The monthly cost is $135.

A third tier is available for businesses, costing up to $500 per month along with a one-time $2,500 equipment fee. This tier is not currently available through Home Depot.

Starlink hardware sold out quickly once listed on Home Depot’s product page. You can sign up to be placed on a waiting list. Any deposit is put towards the future purchase of equipment. Home Depot is restricting sales only to zip codes within coverage areas, currently consisting of portions of 48 states. Those who live outside present coverage areas can sign up to be notified when service becomes available.

Starlink offers a 30-day free trial and there are no contract commitments. Customers can cancel anytime, though this internet service claims to be a great option for remote and rural residents worldwide who want access to high-speed, low-latency broadband.
