Spotify is increasing the price of Premium subscriptions next month, for users in the U.S., Estonia, and Latvia. Spotify Premium accounts will now start at $12.99 per month for individuals.
The update comes just seven months after the price of Spotify Premium jumped from $10.99 to $11.99 per month in June.
Users will be notified via email about the pricing update, which will go into effect in February. The company says that price increases “reflect the value that Spotify delivers, enabling us to continue offering the best possible experience and benefit artists.”
Here’s an example of the email that will go out to current subscribers:
Thank you for being a valued Premium subscriber. Starting on your billing date in February, your subscription price will change from $11.99/month to $12.99/month.

For users in the U.S., every Premium plan option will go up in price. The Individual Premium plan will increase from $11.99 to $12.99 per month. The Student plan will increase from $5.99 to $6.99 per month. The Duo plan for two accounts will increase from $16.99 to $18.99 per month. The Family plan for up to 6 accounts will increase from $19.99 to $21.99 per month.
