A young woman is sitting in her kitchen and is loking at her receipts at home while using a smart phoneBeen thinking about getting Spectrum TV? You may want to be careful because that amazing advertised deal comes with multiple fees and taxes. In fact, the DVR fees now come to $24.98 a month DVR fee (or more if you want to have more than one DVR).

The $24.98 charges are the result of Spectrum’s two different DVR fees. First, there is a $12.99 DVR Service Fee for one DVR, and then there is a fee to rent the DVR equipment for $11.99 a month. If you want more than one DVR, there is an additional fee that will cost up to $19.99 a month depending on how many additional DVRs you want. You can learn more about these fees and more HERE. (Please remember some markets for Spectrum like old TWC markets will have different pricing.)

These aren’t the only fees Spectrum charges. One customer’s Spectrum TV bill recently added up to $60.89 a month in fees and taxes.

Here is a quick break down of some of the other fees Spectrum TV charges that will be added on top of DVR fee:

  • Broadcast TV and Sports Programming Surcharge: $11.55
  • Taxes: $9.09
  • HD Set Top Box Rental Fee: $11.75
  • Digital Converter: $6.99 Per TV (So if you have three extra TVs that will cost $20.97)
  • Other Fees: $7.53

Total: $60.89

You can learn more about these fees and taxes HERE.

So, the next time you see these crazy good deals, remember all the fees and taxes that are not included in that advertised price.
