Today Spectrum announced their 3rd quarter 2019 subscriber numbers. In that report, it was announced that Spectrum lost 77,000 TV subscribers in just 3 months. This comes as Spectrum residential video customers decreased by 141,000 in the 2nd quarter of 2019.

One of the bright spots for Spectrum was that they added 351,000 Internet customers in the 3r quarter, compared to 266,000 wireless customers added in the 3rd quarter of 2019.

“Our strategy of offering high-quality products with good service at attractive prices is working and continues to produce strong customer relationship growth,” said Tom Rutledge, Chairman and CEO of Charter Communications. “In the third quarter, customer relationship growth continued to accelerate and our operating strategy keeps us well-positioned to take advantage of the growth opportunity in front of Charter.”

So far, Comcast has also reported their first quarter 2019 numbers, over 224,000 people canceled their pay-TV service. This comes as Comcast just lost 224,000 TV subscribers in the 2nd quarter of 2019 a dramatic shift from 2018 when Comcast added 22,015 TV customers in the 3rd quarter.

In total Comcast, Spectrum, and Fios have lost 368,000 subscribers that work out to be 4,000 TV subscribers lost every day. This is before AT&T, DISH, and others report their 3rd quarter 2019 earnings reports. With AT&T reportedly ready to report over a million lost TV subscribers, we could see the total number of TV subscribers lost in the 3rd quarter of 2019 ending up passing 2 million.
