Do you still pay for Spectrum TV? Bad news your TV bill will be going up on your next bill. Today Spectrum started to notify customers that it will be raising the price of this TV, Internet, and Phone services. You will also see fees for things like Broadcast TV going up also.
Spectrum says these price hikes are because of “rising programming fees charged by TV networks we carry, their increases will be passed through to our customers.”
According to Times Union, they have received a copy of a bill notifying Spectrum customers that the price of TV, Internet, and Phone service will all be going up. You will also see the price of the broadcast TV fee going up $1 a month to $23.20. (Broadcast TV fees are different in each area.)
Voice services from Spectrum will be going up $5 a month, and internet services will also be going up $5 a month.
Spectrum says these prices will take effect on your next billing date after you are notified of the price hike on your bill. So make sure to look at recent statements from Spectrum to see if you are being hit by this price hike.
Spectrum joins a growing number of TV providers that have raised their prices this year, including DIRECTV and Comcast’s Xfinity TV. As networks ask for more money, cable TV companies are passing the costs along to their subscribers.
Earlier this year, Comcast raised the price of its Broadcast TV fee to $31.25 a month on top of the advertised price. Not only that, but you will also find in many areas a $9.10 RSN fee.
This means Comcast is adding $40.31 to many of its TV packages on top of the advertised price. So that $70 Popular TV package that offers 125+ channels will now cost you over $110 a month once they add in the RSN and broadest TV fee.
Price hikes on cable TV networks have recently seemed to be almost a yearly occurrence.
