Sorry, Reportedly There Is No New Apple TV Coming This Month

For months now we have heard rumors of a new Apple TV with a faster processer and maybe even a lower price point that would be coming soon. And rumors of an Apple TV stick have even been around for years. A stick would help Apple offer an Apple TV model under $100.

Bloomer’s Mark Gurman says he does not expect Apple to announce any new hardware during its big June event. This would include a new Apple TV that some reports had suggested was coming soon.

Gurman even went so far as to say a new Apple TV model “isn’t imminent” despite earlier reports that a new Apple TV would come soon.

Exactly what is happening is unknown. There have been suggestions that Apple is backing off on a new Apple TV after failing to find a market for it. Last year even Roku—for the first time in many years—didn’t roll out a new Roku streaming player. Instead, Roku focused on smart Roku TVs.

Is the new Apple TV dead or just delayed? Gurman has a good track record with these types of announcements and for now it sounds like Apple TV fans will need to wait for a new streaming player a little bit longer.
