After years of speculation, it is starting to look like a brand-new Playstation Handheld now in development, thanks to a report from Insider Gaming

This new handheld device is reportedly codenamed the Q Lite from Sony. The Q Lite is not a cloud-streaming device, but instead will use Remote Play with the Playstation 5 – a feature that the groundbreaking console has been pushing these past few weeks.

As far as physical features go, early hints about the new console show that it will be similar to a Playstation 5 controller with a 8-inch LCD touchscreen in the center.

Mentioned by industry insider Jeff Grubb, Sony is planning to announce its “second phase of the PS5,” which is in reference to its future game slate. Ironically, this second phase is very relevant for Sony’s hardware offerings, with a new detachable disc drive PlayStation 5, Project Nomad (wireless earphones), Project Voyager (wireless headset), and Q Lite (handheld), all scheduled to release within a very short period of time. It’s projected that the PS5 Pro is aiming for a holiday 2024 release.
