Latin woman looking disappointed at her laptopscreen, sitting behind her desk at the office.Did you sit down to watch preseason NFL football yesterday only to find the game was blacked-out on DIRECTV NOW, AT&T TV NOW, Hulu, YouTube TV, or some other service? Sadly you are not alone, but we have good news that these blackouts won’t happen during the regular NFL season.

NFL preseason games are sold differently than NFL regular-season games. That is why you see many of them on channels that typically don’t offer NFL games like The CW or ABC. Sadly when the NFL sold rights to preseason games, they didn’t include rights to stream the games until very recently. Instead, the NFL kept rights to stream some NFL preseason games for its NFL Game Pass service sadly though it only works with out-of-market games.

Now some games will stream on different services because they have new contracts. Sadly many preseason games are still operating under old contracts that do not allow streaming.

The good news is if you have Sling TV or fuboTV you can use the NFL Network alternative now included with Sling TV and the fuboTV feeds to get around these blackouts. You can learn more about this on fuboTV’s website HERE.

The good news is if you want to watch NFL preseason games, they are not blacked-out with your antenna. If you live out-of-market, you can also use the NFL Game Pass to watch live preseason games. Sadly for services like DIRECTV NOW, PlayStation Vue, Hulu, and more we will have to wait for these contracts to come up for renewal before we will see them on streaming services.

Also, check to see if the game is streaming on the NFL Network. Some of these games are blacked-out because the NFL is streaming the games through the NFL Network and many services like Sling TV and fuboTV offer alternative feeds of the NFL Network if the game is blacked-out in your area.
