Today Sling TV updated their LG TV app with a ton of new features and more on the way. Now WebOS users can access many of the features other players like Roku and Fire TV have had for some time.
Here are the changes listed int he app update:
Grid Guide – We’ve listened to customer feedback and incorporated a traditional grid guide option to allow viewers to quickly browse what’s on now, filter channels by genre and see the upcoming schedule of every channel in one glance.
What’s Hot Now – “On Now” is getting smarter by showing the most popular events and shows first, through added intelligence in our live content sorting system for easy, one-click access.
Here are the new features that are on the way:
Featured Movies and Shows – In the coming weeks, we’re adding new “Featured” content ribbons to MyTV, starting with “Featured Movies” and “Featured Shows,” to make it easier to discover our deep library of on-demand content.
Shows Screen – In the next few weeks, we’re launching a new screen dedicated to TV shows. “Shows” will make finding a TV series to watch simple, sorting shows by genres like drama, lifestyle, comedy, crime, sci-fi, action or kids. With more than 31,000 episodes of on-demand shows from Sling, finding a show to watch is more important than ever.
