Today Sling TV announced that they have rolled out their free experience offering access to free shows to all Roku owners. No longer will you have to be an ex Sling TV subscriber to access the content. Now just by installing Sling TV, you will find free TV shows. Sling TV is also rolling out the ability to subscribe to premium content like NBA League pass or even buy a pay-per-view event through the Sling TV app even if you are not a Sling TV subscriber.
If you are a subscriber to Sling TV you will find an improved search feature and a new binge-watching feature that will auto play the next show when using the DVR or on-demand if available. No longer will you have to tell Sling TV you want to view the next episode of your show.
Here is everything that was added:
- Sling TV Free Experience – Now, select new Sling users on Roku devices can try Sling TV without starting a free trial or entering in payment info. When opening the app on Roku devices, new users can click on “browse as guest” to watch free shows, rent pay-per-view events and subscribe to standalone channels on Sling.
- Improved Search – Available on Android TV, Amazon and Roku devices, Sling’s improved search functionality makes it easy to see recent popular searches and find content based on category (shows, movies, etc.).
- Binge-watching – When finishing an on-demand or recorded episode of a series, Sling customers on Roku devices will now automatically see the subsequent episode, without having to select “Watch Now.”
