Today DISH Media announced that it is adding new Pause Ads on your screen when you pause live video on Sling TV. These ads are not a new idea as Hulu and others have been doing ads like this for sometime.
These ads are seen as highly profitable as customers are more likely to see them when they are displayed. Because of this, a growing number of streaming services have been added to help drive up revenue.
“We are always looking to provide advertisers with the most effective, full-funnel ad solutions,” said Tom Fochetta, senior vice president, DISH Media. “Pause Ads introduce an additional opportunity for advertisers to lean into our first-party data and Sling TV’s robust targeting capabilities to create highly compelling and interactive ad experiences.”
According to DISH, these ads will load 10 seconds after you pause your video. The ads will vanish as soon as you restart your video.
