Sling TV announced today that the price of its live TV streaming services will increase by $5. With the change, the monthly cost for Sling Orange or Sling Blue will be $40, and Sling Orange & Blue will be $55.

The price hike will go into effect immediately for new subscribers of Sling TV. Current subscribers will see the price change on their next bill on or after December 3, 2022.

“Raising prices for our customers is not something we take lightly,” Gary Schanman Group President of Sling TV wrote in a blog post. “We recognize that historically high inflation is impacting our customers every day and our goal is not to be another burden to your wallet. During these challenging times, Sling will continue to deliver the lowest price combined with an industry-leading user experience, flexibility and ease to watch top channels…”

Schanman explains in the post that the reason for the price hike is the rising cost of programming.
