If you are trying to watch Sling TV and are getting an error message, you are not alone. The service is down right now for many customers. When you try to watch a video, you get a message saying, “this stream is unauthorized/ 4-402.” This seems to be preventing all customers from accessing Sling TV as best we can tell.

Update: The outage has been resolved.

The outage seems to have started earlier this morning, with customers waking up unable to watch TV. The good news is you can use your Sling TV login to access many apps like ESPN if you are looking to stream some of your favorite networks this morning.

This all comes as DISH announced its 3rd quarter 2023 earnings today and reported that DISH and Sling TV lost 64,000 subscribers. This is great news as Sling TV has turned around recent losses and added customers in the 3rd quarter of 2023.

Sling TV added lost 117,000, and DISH lost 181,000 subscribers. In total, DISH now has 8,840,000 pay TV customers between the two brands, down from 8,904,000 during the same period in 2022. Sling TV now has 2.12 million subscribers, and DISH has 6.72 million subscribers.

Cord Cutters News is reaching out to DISH for comment and will post updates as we learn more. Is the service out for you? Please let us know what you are seeing.
