“Families are embracing our service and the wide array of family-friendly programs on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries makes Sling TV the perfect option for families looking to customize their entertainment,” said Roger Lynch, CEO of Sling TV. “Just in time for the holidays, subscribers can enjoy both networks’ seasonal programming events, which include original movies and special programs like the ‘National Christmas Tree Lighting’ on December 5.”

“We are delighted to partner with Sling TV and to further extend the reach of our unique brand of family entertainment,” said Bill Abbott, President & CEO, Crown Media Family Networks in a statement sent to Cord Cutters News. “The timing of these launches couldn’t be better as we embark on our holiday season and the October 29th kick-off of our highly-anticipated and top-rated 24/7 seasonal programming events – ‘Countdown to Christmas’ on Hallmark Channel and ‘The Most Wonderful Movies of Christmas’ on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.”

The Hallmark Channel features a diverse slate of original family-friendly content including light-hearted romantic movies, primetime scripted series, annual specials, and Emmy-nominated two-hour daytime lifestyle program, “Home & Family,” plus 20 hours of on-demand programming. In addition to Hallmark Channel’s original offerings, Sling TV subscribers will also have access to the network’s lineup of series, including “The Middle,” “I Love Lucy,” “Golden Girls” and “Frasier.”

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, Crown Media Network’s second general entertainment network, also available today in Lifestyle Plus Extra, brings more of Crown Media’s programs to Sling TV with original dramatic films and popular mystery movie series.

Sling TV also added the NHL Network, the TV home for the National Hockey League, launched today in Sling TV’s “Sports Extra,” still $5 per month with a Sling Orange subscription, or $10 per month with a Sling Blue subscription. Today’s launch on Sling TV marks the first time that NHL Network is available by an over-the-top provider.

“With hockey season already in full-swing, diehard fans are donning their jerseys and Sling TV makes it easy and affordable to watch NHL Network wherever they are, so they don’t miss a single slap shot,” said Roger Lynch, CEO of Sling TV in a statement sent to Cord Cutters News. “As the premier streaming destination for sports, we continue to offer fans nationwide the games they can’t live without, whether they love soccer, college football, pro football, MLB playoffs, the NCAA basketball tournament and now NHL hockey.”

The Network will offer more than 75 matchups to Sling TV customers, including New York Rangers v. Washington Capitals (Oct. 22), the Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ between the Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers (Oct. 23), Pittsburgh Penguins v. Philadelphia Flyers (Oct. 29), and Los Angeles Kings v. Chicago Blackhawks (Oct. 30). NHL Network also brings its live weekday studio programming, including the fast-paced “NHL Now” at 4:00 p.m. ET, the prime time flagship show “NHL Tonight” at 6:00 p.m. ET, and the nightly highlights show “On The Fly.” As with NHL Network telecasts, games watched via Sling TV will be subject to local blackouts depending on the user’s location.
