Slling TV, known for its prominent place among streaming television services, is aiming for a larger piece of the home entertainment experience with the introduction of Arcade, a new feature that merges classic arcade gaming with premium streaming content. This unique approach allows subscribers to enjoy a library of well-known games while watching their favorite sports, news, and entertainment shows. This new game-and-watch experience is available at no additional cost and represents a significant step forward in interactive entertainment for SLING.

Gary Schanman, group president of DISH Video Services, emphasized SLING’s commitment to enhancing the viewer experience by integrating fun and engaging elements into its platform. According to Schanman, “SLING continues to put its subscribers and users first. We want people to not only love the flexibility and control but we want the entire experience to be fun and engaging…SLING is now more than just TV. We want people to enjoy their entertainment just as much as we do. The new Arcade offering combines some great classic games with our great TV programming. No other streaming platform gives you access to more entertainment options for free.”

Arcade’s feature allowing users to play games and watch TV simultaneously is a first in the streaming service industry. This capability ensures that users can enjoy a variety of classic games sourced from Play.Works. The ten available now are Tetris®, Wheel of Fortune, Sweet Sugar, Solitaire Clash, Poker Online, Neon Rider, Pixel Dash, Centipede, Doodle Jump, and Coin Town. Jonathan Boltax, CEO of Play.Works, highlighted the role of Arcade in driving user retention and engagement through a carefully curated catalog of TV-optimized games.

“Play.Works continues to innovate on TV and Arcade is another example of this,” explained Boltax. “Play.Works catalog of games built from the ground-up for TV drives retention and usage.”

Arcade is currently accessible to Sling TV and Sling Freestream customers on Fire and Android TV, with plans to expand to additional platforms in the coming months. The initial launch features ten games, but promises regular updates to the library to keep the content fresh and titles engaging.

As SLING TV continues to expand its offerings, Arcade represents just one of the many ways the platform is setting itself apart in the competitive streaming landscape, offering a unique blend of entertainment that caters to the varied interests of its users.
