SiriusXM on Thursday launched its a rebooted version of its app, which ties together its satellite radio experience with Pandora and podcasts, all for a cheaper monthly rate.
The company lowered its app-only subscription fee by $1 to $9.99 a month, which is lower than its baseline satellite radio plan of $13.99 a month.
The relaunched app comes as SiriusXM wrestles with younger listeners who are moving away from traditional and satellite radio in favor of streaming services like Spotify or Apple Music. By more tightly integrating Pandora and Stitcher, it’s incorporate streaming services that better resonates with users.
SiriusXM touted access to more than 400 channels and tens of thousands of hours of on-demand content through podcasts and music. The app experience focuses more on discovering new content tailored to their preferences.
The company teased more content in 2024, including exclusive live events, new channels and shows, as well as more than 175 guest DJs.
