Well, it looks like Cord Cutters will have a new way to watch the Mayweather vs McGregor Pay-Per-View event this month.
Update: Sling TV and the UFC app will both be streaming the event for cord cutters. (You still need to pay for it through their PPV.)
Today we found out that Showtime has launched a new website called www.ShowtimePPV.com that allows cord cutters to buy access to the big fight this month.
Here is the email they are sending anyone asking about the fight.
Thank you for contacting us regarding the Mayweather vs. McGregor Pay-Per-View event on August 26th! You can now purchase the event directly through the SHOWTIME PPV website at www.showtimePPV.com. When purchased directly through that website you will be able to stream the fight at www.showtimeppv.com on these supported browsers:
Desktop Web • Chrome 53.0+ • Firefox 47.0+ • Safari 10.0+ • Microsoft Edge 15.0+ Mobile Web (Android 6.0+ devices only): • Chrome 59.0+
To purchase the event through the SHOWTIME PPV website, please visit www.showtimePPV.com, select ‘Buy Live PPV Event,’ and follow the on-screen instructions to complete your purchase. Please be aware, however, that if you order the event through www.showtimePPV.com, you will only be able to stream it from that website on a supported browser, and not from a streaming device.
Alternatively, we’re also happy to let you know that the SHOWTIME PPV app will be available soon, on supported Apple devices! You will be able to purchase the event through the SHOWTIME PPV app when it becomes available, and then stream the event on any supported Apple device. Please note that purchases through the website at www.showtimePPV.com do not include access to stream the event through the SHOWTIME PPV app, and purchases within the SHOWTIME PPV app do not include access to stream the event at www.showtimePPV.com.

So be careful as it looks like the device you buy the event on is the only device you can watch the fight on.
Sling TV has also recently launched the ability to buy PPV events but has not announced plans to carry the Mayweather vs McGregor event this year. So, for now, it looks like ShowtimePPV maybe the way to watch the big fight this month.
