Want to watch Homeland, The Affair, or even every Dexter episode ever made offline? Now you can as Showtime Anytime adds downloading to its mobile apps.
Even when you don’t have Internet you can watch your Showtime shows. From traveling on a long car trip to flying overseas you now have one more option to watch your favorite shows. This new feature is supported on iOS, Android, and Fire tablets.
Showtime is joining a growing list of services that allow offline viewing. Recently both Netflix and Hulu launched offline viewing. Before that Amazon Video had offered offline viewing for years and recently added support for Android offline viewing.
This week Netflix added support for Windows 10 offline viewing if you have the Netflix app from the Windows 10 store.
To get Showtime offline viewing support, you will need to update your Showtime Anytime app in your app store. You will also need a Showtime Anytime subscription or Showtime subscription through PlayStation Vue.
You will be able to control the quality of the download. To save space you can download in standard definition or if space doesn’t matter you can download in higher definition (720p). Tablet users will have the option to download in 1080p for even better resolution.
You can also do this with the Showtime Amazon Channel through the Amazon app.
