Update #1: Amazon has contacted us saying the issue should be fixed. If you still do not see your Amazon Instant app on Samsung TVs you should contact tech support.

Update #2: Samsung has contacted CCN to let us know they are looking into the issue but do not have a resolution at this time.

We are receiving reports from our readers that the Amazon Instant app on Samsung Smart TVs is being automatically deleted.  At this point it appears to be some type of software glitch, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Amazon and Samsung support have both stated they are investigating what is happening.

Samsung Smart TV’s with the Smart Hub still show the Amazon app as available for download, but when you click on it you receive an error message. The fact that it is still in their app store leads us to believe it was a glitch on the TVs that caused the automatic deletion.

This is not the first automatic glitch from Samsung. Earlier this year Samsung TV’s started to inadvertently inject ads into the Plex app when users streamed content from their local network.

We are reaching out to Samsung and Amazon for comment and will update the story when we know more.
