Samsung TV Plus, the #1 free ad-supported app on Samsung Smart TV, continues adding content with its latest partnership expansion with Hearst Media Production Group (HMPG). The expansion deal brings more than 500 hours of HMPG original programming to Samsung’s free ad-supported TV (FAST) and video-on-demand (AVOD).
Known for producing and distributing unscripted programming, HMPG’s weekly series that air on Samsung TV Plus include Lucky Dog, Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien, Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom Protecting the Wild, Harlem Globetrotters: Play It Forward, and various shows hosted by renowned wildlife expert Jack Hanna.
“In this evolving media landscape, we’re expanding the distribution and access of HMPG’s premium content reaching millions of new viewers,” said Frank Biancuzzo, HMPG president.
Earlier this year, 350 live channels were available on the platform, and it has grown to over 2,5000 ad-supported linear channels globally. Xplore, Rovr Pets, and The Jack Hanna Channel are three of the HMPG FAST channels that are currently distributed on Samsung TV Plus.
“Our vast library of iconic family-friendly and timely series continues to build audiences across all platforms,” said Andrew Tew, HMPG senior vice president, global licensing & distribution. “Samsung TV Plus is an ideal partner to advance our viewership footprint.”
HMPG has a large library of content, with more than 4,000 hours of programming available in 97 countries. More than 30 original series can be found in the HMPG portfolio with hundreds of hours of original content available on various streaming services and traditional broadcast networks. Popular HMPG shows include “Lucky Dog,” with Brandon McMillan, on CBS; “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom Protecting the Wild,” with hosts Peter Gros and Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant, on NBC; and “Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien,” airing in syndication
Samsung TV Plus offers zero-cost entertainment, including thousands of movies and shows on demand. There are no credit cards required or contracts needed, and you can find it on the web, or on various Samsung devices.
