Roku, Inc., the leading TV streaming platform in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, has announced a transformative upgrade to its Roku-made TV lineup, set to redefine home entertainment in 2025. The company revealed enhancements to its Roku TV Plus and Pro Series lines, introducing cutting-edge mini-LED technology and an advanced automatic picture detection system designed to deliver a superior viewing experience. These innovations, paired with a sleek new Pro remote, underscore Roku’s commitment to making high-quality streaming accessible to its over 90 million households worldwide.

The standout feature of the 2025 Roku TVs is the integration of mini-LED backlighting, a significant leap forward from previous models. This technology enhances brightness, contrast, and color accuracy, producing deeper blacks and more vibrant visuals. The Pro Series, in particular, leverages mini-LED alongside quantum dot color technology and advanced local dimming to minimize blooming and haloing, ensuring crisp, cinematic picture quality. “The new mini-LED design is far better than older Roku TVs, helping us upgrade our offerings with best-in-class images,” said a Roku spokesperson. Available in 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch sizes, the Pro Series is poised to compete with premium brands while maintaining Roku’s signature affordability.

Complementing the hardware upgrades is Roku’s innovative Smart Picture Max technology, now expanded to the Plus Series as well. This AI-driven feature automatically detects the type of content being viewed—whether movies, TV shows, sports, or gaming—and optimizes picture settings in real time. Roku’s research reveals that 91% of its users never adjust their TV’s picture mode, often missing out on the best possible visuals. The enhanced automatic mode selection eliminates this issue, dynamically adjusting brightness, contrast, and color to suit the content. For instance, sports broadcasts benefit from sharper motion clarity, while movies gain richer contrast for a theater-like experience. This feature will also roll out to third-party Roku TVs, ensuring broad accessibility.

The 2025 TVs come equipped with a redesigned Pro remote, featuring backlit buttons that activate upon touch for easy nighttime use and a USB-C rechargeable battery with 50% more capacity than its predecessor. The remote’s seamless integration with Roku’s intuitive OS enhances user control over the streaming experience.

Roku’s expanded ecosystem now includes 35 partner brands, with hundreds of new Roku TVs slated for launch in 2025. From budget-friendly Select Series models to the premium Pro Series, Roku continues to cater to diverse audiences.
