TCL Roku 4K TVBack in July Variety reported that Roku was looking at expanding internationally. According to reports Roku was planning to expand into Brazil and other countries around the world. Roku is already in a few markets outside of the United States including Mexico and Canada but is not as widespread as some of their competitors. Now Roku is looking to fix that by expanding to more countries.

Now Roku’s CEO confirmed that he is spending more time on International but said “We are not ready to reveal our plans for international yet.” Roku CEO Anthony Wood said during the 2nd quarter of 2019 earnings call.

Roku is not new to international expansion as back in 2017 Roku expanded into Argentina, Central America, Chile, Colombia and Peru. Now it sounds like Roku is getting ready to expand into new markets again.

Roku did say that they are looking at how new tariffs would affect them and are considering moving their manufacturing over time. Many worry that the new tariffs will affect Roku but it sounds like Roku is once again getting ready to expand.
