In July, the 77th annual Primetime Emmy Award nominees were announced and there were plenty of streaming titles on the list. Severance, an Apple TV+ Original, earned 27 nominations, HBO Max’s The Penguin earned 24, and there were 23 nominations each for HBO Max’s The White Lotus and Apple TV+’s The Studio.

Following the nominations, Roku shared the Roku Streamer’s Choice Award Winners for Most Searched Nominees on Roku.
The top searched comedy series was Only Murders in the Building, streaming on Hulu. For drama series, the most searched nominee was The White Lotus, streaming on HBO Max. And the most searched limited series from the list of nominees was The Penguin, also streaming on HBO Max.
Nearly every series nominated for an Emmy saw a bump in search volume following the nomination announcement in July. One exception was The Bear, an FX series streaming on Hulu, which saw its highest search bump after its June premiere.
In the week following the Emmy nominations, The Studio on Apple TV+ saw a 111% increase in search interest. Severance, also on Apple TV+ increased 103% and Adolescence on Netflix saw a whopping 151% increase in search volume on Roku.
Interestingly, the most searched drama series on Roku didn’t make the Emmy nomination list at all. Those titles included Yellowstone, Landman, Tracker, Reacher, and Matlock.
