In its Q3 earnings report, Roku has announced that it added 2.9 million active accounts for the quarter, reaching 46 million active accounts total, a 43% increase year over year.

Roku device sales also increased year over year by 57% with sales more than doubling in Canada and the UK.

“Q3 was the strongest quarter in the Platform segment’s history driven by strong growth in advertising as brands embraced connected TV platforms like Roku, we expanded reach of The Roku Channel, and saw a significant increase in content distribution activities,” said Scott Rosenberg, senior vice president of the Platform Business at Roku. “

Roku sales for the quarter included two new streaming devices. Roku recently introduced a new Roku Ultra as well as the Roku Streambar. In Q3, Roku also brought the affordable Roku Express to Brazil.

“In Q3, Roku delivered outstanding financial and operational results led by robust demand for TV streaming products, strong growth in advertising and the expansion of content distribution partnerships,” said Roku CFO Steve Louden. “We are pleased with the trajectory of our business and believe that Roku remains well positioned to help shape the future of television–including TV advertising – around the world.”
