Today, Roku announced the launch of Premium Subscriptions in Mexico, the first international expansion of premium subscriptions on the platform.
Premium subscriptions allow users to sign up, sign in, and watch content from paid services like Showtime, Starz, Paramount+, and HBO Max. The benefit is watching all content in one app, rather than navigating to multiple apps to watch different shows and movies, along with paying with one monthly bill.
“With the launch of Premium Subscriptions in Mexico, we’re redefining how customers discover and enjoy entertainment,” said Randy Ahn, VP of Subscriptions at Roku. “Top content services like ViX Premium and FOX One are now available in one fast, easy, and personalized experience. We’re excited to keep expanding the subscription options for our viewers with more content partners, new collaborations, and compelling promotions.”
The news follows an announcement last week from Warner Bros. Discovery and Roku about a new advertising partnership in Mexico. The agreement will give advertisers in Mexico access to Roku’s audience and content, and innovative advertising formats through a single partner in Warner Bros. Discovery.
