Roku announced today that it will be rolling out some OS updates to give users more content discovery tools. Here’s what’s coming for Roku users.

Top Ten Movies and Shows Rows

These two rows will give users a look at what’s trending. The Top 10 Movies and Top 10 TV Shows rows will spotlight the most searched titles on Roku. The lists will be updated daily and can be found in the New & Popular, Movies, and TV sections.

In Theaters Now Row

In the New & Popular section, Roku users will find current movie releases. Watch trailers and add titles to your Save List, so you can watch at home when they arrive on Roku. This new row will join the Coming Soon row to help users plan their next movie night.

Surf Mode

Surf Mode delivers a fun, easy way to scroll through short clips from The Roku Channel. The previews spotlight full-length shows and movies available to stream, so you can check out titles you may have scrolled past otherwise. This section will evolve, based on your preferences – which previews you choose to watch, skip, or use to go to the full-length content.

Live TV Channel Guide

A Newly Added section of the Live TV Channel Guide gives Roku users a quick glance at the most recently added channels. Premium subscriptions will now appear in the top recommendations row for quick access to trending shows.

All updates will be rolled out to Roku users automatically over the coming weeks.
