Today Roku announced that they are offering a selection of free TV shows from more TV networks. These networks include Acorn TV, Adult Swim, Discovery Channel, EPIX, Food Network, HGTV, Hopster, NBC, TLC, and the Travel Channel. You will be able to find these free TV shows in the new Featured Free area on the Roku home screen, but you need to hurry because many of these free TV shows will go away on January 1, 2019, as Roku’s celebrate the season of the streaming event will come to an end.

As the leading platform for streaming free content, the Stream-a-thon is a great way to thank our customers. We’re delighted with the quality of shows and to be working in partnership with some of the biggest and best providers across television.”
“The content across our various brands touches the lives of consumers every single day and the affinity for our programming is even more prevalent during the holidays,” said Michael Bishara, SVP & GM, OTT & Digital Syndication, Discovery. “We’re thrilled to partner with Roku to provide easy access to select content from our GO TV everywhere apps and introduce new audiences to the GO experience.”
“As a destination for premium content, our focus is to deliver great programming to consumers how, where and when they want to access it,” said Michael Wright, President, EPIX. “We’re thrilled to partner with Roku on its first-ever Stream-a-thon, offering Roku users free, unauthenticated access to the first season of our critically acclaimed series Deep State this holiday season, giving a sampling of the types of quality content on EPIX at no additional cost.”
