Dog with a roku remote

Editors Note From Luke: Ok this is likely Roku’s April Fools joke but for now, lets roll with it and have some fun.

Today, we’re excited to announce a new Roku product that pet owners are going to love. The Press Paws Remote is the perfect addition to a cordcutting setup for any family with a dog who enjoys TV just as much as his owners.

In a recent survey, Roku found that a major pet peeve among customers was a remote that can’t be easily operated by pets. In fact, 72% of Roku owners said they believe their dogs would enjoy TV more if they could take control of the remote and choose what to watch on their own. We couldn’t agree more.

A representative for Roku had this to say about the release of the new remote. “Roku believes that dogs are people too and should experience TV the same way that we do. The television viewing experience for dogs is often static and unfulfilling. That’s why Roku is introducing the Press Paws Remote, designed to make it easy for your dog to tune into their favorite TV entertainment.”

The Press Paws Remote comes with several new features to improve the viewing experience for furry friends.

  • Animal-Themed Shortcut Buttons – Direct access to channels like Animal Planet are just one click away. Buttons are ergonomically designed specifically for paws of all shapes and sizes.
  • Bark Assistant Technology – Your dog will love the bark-to-play, back-to-pause, and bark-to-mute features of the Bark Assist Technology included with every Press Paws Remote.
  • Built In Sub-WOOFer – Created with very high pitched frequencies that only dogs will be able to hear, this feature provides the perfect sound quality for your pups.

In addition to the new remote, The Roku Channel is getting an update with a paw-some new content row, The Pet Collective, full of pet friendly shows and movies.

The Roku Press Paws Remote will be available for purchase for $19.99 via Roku.com in the US, Canada, UK, and Mexico starting on April 1, 2019.
