Roku and X Games are expanding their streaming partnership with a new multi-year agreement that will bring the upcoming MoonPay X Games League (XGL) to Roku Sports Channel. The deal continues the companies’ collaboration as X Games prepares to launch a new team-based professional format for action sports.

Beginning with the inaugural summer season in 2026, followed by the first winter season in 2027, events from the MoonPay X Games League will stream on Roku Sports Channel with full live coverage available to viewers across the United States. The league introduces a new structure for X Games competitions, featuring teams competing across disciplines including skateboarding, BMX, snowboarding, and skiing, with both men’s and women’s events included.

X Games League Draft Streaming March 12

Fans will get their first look at the new format with the MoonPay X Games League Draft, which will stream on Roku Sports Channel on March 12 from COSM in Los Angeles. The draft will introduce the teams and athletes participating in the league as the new competition format prepares to launch.

The expanded partnership follows strong audience growth for X Games on Roku. During the most recent X Games Aspen event, Roku reported 149% year-over-year growth in viewership on its platform, with 91% of households streaming the event on Roku representing new viewers compared with the prior year. Female viewership on Roku also increased 233% year-over-year.

According to Roku Media Head of Sports Joe Franzetta, the companies have already built a partnership that has helped bring X Games competitions to millions of homes while introducing new viewers to the events.

X Games CEO Jeremy Bloom said the new league format was designed with digital audiences in mind, reflecting how younger fans increasingly watch live sports through streaming platforms.

Roku Sports Channel is available free through The Roku Channel, giving viewers access to live sports programming without a subscription. The addition of the MoonPay X Games League continues Roku’s efforts to expand its lineup of free sports streaming as action sports evolve into a more structured, season-based competition format.
