Roku is branching out from smart TVs into smart homes to become so much more than a streaming app. The company has already begun adding new hardware for smart homes, including security systems, cameras, video doorbells, plugs, and lights.

“Basically, it’s the same strategy we use for smart TVs – which is sort of our entry into the smart home because it’s the leading smart device in a home – to build a custom OS for the entire smart home,” said CEO Anthony Wood in an interview with Axios. “I think 10 years from now, every single home will have an operating system.”

Through the Roku Smart Home app, members can combine subscriptions including motion detection alerts alongside live stream camera views of their homes. Need to check on your pets? The Rokue Smart Home lets you see what your furry friends are up to while you’re away. You will even be immediately notified if smoke alarms go off and get alerts from your doorbell if someone shows up at your house.

The Roku Smart Home app also lets you schedule devices to automatically turn on and off, so if you’re heading out for a vacation your house will run as if someone is still at home.

The app is available for Android and iOS devices through the Google Play Store or App Store. A subscription costs $3.99 a month per camera or $39.99 per camera for an annual subscription. Camera Plus subscriptions cost $9.99 for all cameras or $99.99 for the year.
