The 2024 Roku Ultra is Roku’s most powerful player and will be introduced along with other hardware and software news at the Developer Conference.
The company announced that this year’s Ultra features 30% faster performance, enhanced Wi-Fi 6, and the company’s best remote, Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition). The streaming player will instantly upgrade the home theater experience with best-in-class Dolby Atmos audio, stunning picture with Dolby Vision, and an intuitive interface, helping you discover and watch entertainment with ease.

Roku is bringing family-friendly programming from across the platform to the Home Screen with the revamped Kids & Family destination, rolling out thumbs up/down icons allowing you to like or dislike content you just watched, improved Roku Voice with an expanded command library, mobile app advancements and more.
Recently, Roku rolled out a major software update, Roku OS 14, to select users. The beta testing phase is already done and the software will slowly roll out to other users. Some of the key features during beta testing included enhanced media playback, industry standards support, and improved text display.
Some other features of the Roku OS 14 include a new Kids & Family zone on the home screen with over 50,000 titles.
Roku is also adding a thumbs up and down option this will let you tell Roku if you liked or didn’t like a show or movie to help improve recommendations. Roku is also rolling out improved voice commands and an updated Roku app for your mobile device.
Roku says Roku OS 14 is already rolling out and will hit all supported devices in the coming months.
