When the deal with Netflix and Disney was announced, there was a lot of sadness when it was learned that Star Wars Episode VII was not a part of the deal. It turned out that Epix still had the rights to many Disney movies.
Well now newer movies from Disney will be on Netflix and that includes last year’s blockbuster hit Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. (Rogue One will join Netflix on July 18th 2017.)
This is the first in a series of side stories from Disney in the Star Wars universe with more movies in the works including a movie about Han Solo and many others including Episode IIV this year and Episode IV in two years.
Even with the addition of blockbuster movies such as Rogue One and a growing list of hit Netflix originals, there is still lot of content leaving Netflix as movie studios fear the dominance of the streaming service.
Netflix is attempting to counter this complaint by striking new streaming deals with companies such as Disney and producing more original content. The question now is can it change the perspective of some subscribers that Netflix no longer has the shows and movies they want.
So will the addition of newer Disney movies such as Rogue One make you more likely to subscribe or stay subscribed? Leave us a comment and let us know.
