Report: Hulu Crosses the Goal Line With Bill Belichick’s UNC Football Docuseries

Eight-time Super Bowl-winning legendary former NFL head coach Bill Belichick is reportedly bringing the University of North Carolina Tar Heels football program to a screen near you. According to a new report from Front Office Sports, the Tarheels football coach is teaming up with the Disney-owned streaming service Hulu to release a new docuseries covering the team.

Note: this series has not yet been officially announced, so details are still speculative for now.

FOS reported that EverWonder Studio is set to produce the docuseries which doesn’t have an announced title as of yet. The report notes many phrases trademarked by a firm by Belichick’s girlfriend Jordon Hudson:

It is not yet known what the new documentary will be called. A firm controlled by Hudson registered trademarks for phrases including “Chapel Bill (Bill’s Version),” “Do Your Job: (Bill’s Version),” and “No Days Off (Bill’s Version).”

Originally, HBO Max seemed to be the favorite to land Belichick’s inaugural season as UNC football coach for a Hard Knocks offseason project. However, talks with long-running reality sports docuseries broke down due to reported creative differences with Hudson. This would’ve made the TarHeels the first college football team to get the Hard Knocks treatment. Next month, the Buffalo Bills will be the focus of Hard Knocks: Training Camp, and later, in December, Hard Knocks: In Season will chronicle the NFC East.

The possible upcoming show joins a growing list of football-focused programming across Disney’s streaming ventures, including ESPN+ and Disney+. Later this fall, the NFL’s most successful franchise in recent years, the Kansas City Chiefs, is getting a six-part ESPN Originals docuseries that explores the highs and lows of the 2024 season.

With the college football season just weeks away, Bill Belichick, who won six Super Bowls as head coach for the New England Patriots and two as a defensive coordinator for the New York Giants, whose defense was centered around TarHeels legend LB Lawrence Taylor, looks to take the North Carolina program to its first College Football Playoffs appearance and national title.

If Belichick can translate his professional success to the collegiate level, Hulu‘s docuseries would give viewers an inside look at a first for the program. Likewise, if things don’t go as planned, the behind-the-scenes drama and fallout could be compelling television.

Don’t miss out on any of the action on the field and stream every game this upcoming season. Cord cutters can check out our guide to find out how to watch UNC football in 2025 on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, and other compatible devices.
