The Boys are back in town this summer. In honor of Homelander’s birthday today, Prime Video has confirmed the fourth season will be released this June.

The series returns with its cast of heroes, antiheroes, villains, and the citizens who worship them and are somehow still convinced those with superpowers are genuinely here to help. Prime Video will debut the first three episodes on June 13. New episodes will stream every week until the epic season finale on July 18.

Season four finds the world “on the brink” as Victoria Neuman moves closer to the Oval Office, controlled by Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, who lost Becca’s son and his position as leader of The Boys, has mere months left to live. However, they must put aside their differences and work together to save everyone before it’s too late. Check out the trailer here.

Fans have long awaited The Boys’ fourth season. It’s been two years since the third season dropped – and with quite a cliffhanger. The show began filming the upcoming season in August of 2022 and wrapped up last April but postponed its release during the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes last year.

The show has been wildly popular with fans, who dig the basic premise of what if superheroes were jerks? The Boys is based on The New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson and was initially devised as a feature film.

The duo serves as executive producers along with showrunner Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Phil Sgriccia, Michaela Starr, Paul Grellong, David Reed, Meredith Glynn, Judalina Neira, Ken F. Levin, and Jason Netter. The series has been nominated for eight Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series in 2021, for its clever writing, social satire, gruesome effects, and spot on portrayals by the cast.

The show stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chase Crawford, Timer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Cameron Crovetti. Season four will introduce new characters played by Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and rumors are still swirling on whether Jensen Ackles will reprise his role as Soldier Boy, according to CBR.

The first three seasons are streaming now on Prime Video, as is the spinoff series Gen V, which debuted last September. Those who caught Gen V’s season finale might have some inkling of what will go down in season four of The Boys, which may have a few crossover characters appear.

The Boys also had a web series spinoff called Seven on 7, which came out in July of 2021. Diabolical, an animated anthology series spinoff, launched in March 2022.

Season five of The Boys is expected to start filming in April.
