Fawesome, the ad-supported streaming platform from Future Today, is bringing premium game show entertainment to audiences for free with the launch of its first-ever original competition series: Southern Food Truck Wars and Fawesome Family Game Show. These new shows mark the platform’s expansion into original programming, offering family-friendly fun and high-stakes culinary showdowns at no cost.

Bringing Game Shows Back to Families—For Free

“Game shows have a magical way of bringing families together, and these original competition series represent an exciting leap forward for Fawesome,” said Vikrant Mathur, Co-Founder of Future Today. “When parents and kids gather around to cheer on their favorite contestants, they create unforgettable moments together.”

Fawesome has already established itself as a go-to destination for free, on-demand movies and TV shows, but these two new competition series signal a shift toward exclusive, premium content that doesn’t require a subscription.

Southern Food Truck Wars: The Battle for the Best Bites

Set in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Southern Food Truck Wars follows a lineup of ambitious food truck chefs competing to impress the judges on presentation, taste, and execution. Hosted by TV celebrity chef Jay Ducote, the series celebrates the innovation and flavors behind the food truck movement.

“Food trucks are where culinary innovation happens,” Ducote said. “Chefs who own and run their own businesses battle it out with local flare. I’m excited to host Southern Food Truck Wars to get a first-hand look at the cuisine the best food trucks in the South are putting out.”

The six-episode series builds to a grand finale showdown, where the top two food trucks face off for the Southern Food Truck Champion title. The winner takes home $1,000, a $5,000 advertising package, and of course, bragging rights.

Fawesome Family Game Show: Classic Games With a Twist

Hosted by LaTangela Fay, Fawesome Family Game Show is a fast-paced quiz competition where two teams face off in a series of reimagined classic games, including:

  • “Etch It Out” – A drawing-based guessing game inspired by Pictionary
  • “Word Scramble” – A brain-teasing word puzzle challenge
  • “Chain Reaction” – A word-linking game requiring fast thinking
  • “Word Feud” – A Family Feud-style guessing game with fun categories

Each episode sees contestants test their teamwork, creativity, and quick thinking, competing for a $1,000 cash prize.

The show is created by Aaron L. Williams (Digital Media Studios) and Joshua K. Carpenter (Global Content), who also serve as executive producers alongside Vikrant Mathur and Alok Ranjan.

“These shows represent a fresh take on beloved competition formats,” said Williams. “With Southern Food Truck Wars, we’re celebrating the rich culinary traditions of the South, while Fawesome Family Game Show brings a new energy to classic games that families already love.”

Why It Matters for Cord Cutters

With more families shifting to streaming, Fawesome’s free ad-supported model offers an alternative to costly cable game shows. Viewers can watch the series on-demand at no cost, while advertisers gain premium opportunities for sponsorship and product integration—from cooking equipment features in Southern Food Truck Wars to brand partnerships in game show challenges.

These new releases follow Fawesome’s original film debuts last year, including Greenwood Rising: The Rise of Black Wall Street and The Peanut Man.
